Academic Sessions:

1. Reading Program/English Enrichment  -
   Customized one on one goal oriented program
   with a maximum child teacher ratio of 3:1.
   Level 1- Phonetics (Beginners-3-5 years)

1. Introduction to 42 phonemes (letter sounds of the alphabet)
2. Blending letter sounds to read single syllable words.
3. Verbal self expression in good English.
4. Picture based composition

         Level 2- Advanced Phonetics and Vocabulary ( Intermediate 6-9 years)

1. Phonetics - short and long vowel sounds, digraphs, diphthongs, blends to facilitate reading compound words and difficult words comfortably.
2. Spelling rules using phonetics for a good foundation in spelling
3. Vocabulary development and reading comprehension.
4. Introduction to grammar.

         Level 3 -English  Enrichment( Advanced 10-16 years)

1. Advanced and intensive courses in grammar.
2. Vocabulary enhancement, mind mapping, composition exercises to facilitate self expression in good English.
3. Creative Writing.
4. Advanced reading comprehension to sharpen the child's thinking skills, to draw second order conclusions and develop reasoning ability.
5. Corrective reading techniques if required.
6. Corrective spelling techniques if required.
7. Corrective grammar if required.

 The child spends2- 3 hours per week on this program. Each session lasts for 1 hour . The timing vies from child to child as these are very small group classes of usually 2-3 children only. It is a highly customised program that is designed for each child. The admission process for this program is through a written and verbal assessment .

2. Math Program

Weekend Workshops at Booksnmore

Event Name: Monsoon Jamboree - a fun story and song session on the monsoon for 2-7 year olds. Children can come dressed in "Monsoon" theme clothes for a lighthearted fashion show.Monsoon Jamboree will be coordinated by Sujatha Ashwin

Friday-12/7/2013
Hundertwasser Art Appreciation Class:
A class on Friedrich Hundertwasser and his style of drawing. A practical lesson on Contour Drawing. Art History on the Austrian style and modernism in Austrian art. This lesson is for 4-16 year olds. They will make their own drawings based on his style. We are adding a 3-D element to his art work using contour cut outs.
Art Class by Raji and Art History and presentation on the artist by Varsha

Saturday-13/7/2013
Show n tell session for 3-8 year olds on any topic of their choice. Prizes will be awarded to the best speakers.

Telugu classes
Every Saturday morning , Telugu classes are being held by Sridevi for 6-14 year olds. Timings: 11.30 A.M onwards.

Drawing and Craft Classes at Books n More

Drawing Classes are starting again from June 30'th after the summer break. The classes will be held from 10:30-12 noon at the library . Fee is Rs 500 p.m.
The class includes basic drawing ,composition, shading , symmetry and proportion exercises etc

Craft classes are being held every Friday from 5 P.m onwards . Fee is Rs 500 pm . Every week different crafts will be explored. This Friday 3-D Quilling will be taught .

In the Saturday Activity Club , this week , "Pattern Mania " -
a workshop on problem solving using pattern based thinking for 6-10 year olds will be held.

Cryptic Crossword Workshop
This weekend , we are starting off a 3 weekend long Cryptic Crossword workshop  . It will be starting from 22/6/13 and going on upto 7/7/2013 . The timings are from 5:30 -7:00 P.M on Saturdays and 10:30-12 noon on Sundays respectively.This workshop is open to all above 10 years of age.

Around the Country in 25 stories - Manipur
This session will feature folktales from Manipur and Thangdi Chongba - a popular circle dance form from that state on 22/6/13 at 5 P.M This workshop is for ages 4-10 years

This weekend at Books n More -Story theatre and "Back to School "

This weekend we are having two new workshops

• Story theatre- Story telling and Theatrical Play of The Enormous Turnip on 15/6/2013 from 5 P.M To 6:30 P.M. This is meant for 3-8 year olds

• "Back to School "- a goal setting and time management seminar for 8-16 year olds to help plan their academic and extra curicular activities better , achieve success and good balance in their overall development . This seminar is being conducted by Ms Ramya Narayanan , counsellor and theatre teacher .

Apart from this a month long handwriting program is starting from 17/6 for 6-16 year olds . This program will be held on weekdays between 5-6 P.M .
