This weekend at Books n More- A women's day special makeover session ;Mind Gym ;Satin Flower Making,Fabric Painting ;Little Chefs
1.Special Session : Women's Day special makeover session covering makeup and hair styles for women above the age of 16 years is being held by Sonal C on Women's Day
Date and Time: 8'th March 2014. From 11 A.M to 1 P.M.
Fee : Rs. 250 per participant (includes all materials )
2.Workshop : Mind Gym - Sudoku Blaster session is being conducted by J.Ramesh for children in the age group of 8-16 years .Learn to solve all three levels of Sudoku in this challenging workshop.
Date and Time: 8'th March 2014. From 5:30P.M to 7 P.M
Fee : Rs. 150 per child(all materials inclusive)
3.Craft Workshop : Satin Flower Making workshop is being conducted for all above 8 years including adults by Ms Veena Jain .Two different types of flowers will be taught.
Date and Time: 9'th March 2014. From 4P.M to 6:30 P.M
Fee : Rs. 250 per participant (includes all materials )
4.Art Workshop : Learn Fabric Painting from Ms Anjali Kumar for ages 8 and above including adults .Participants are required to bring fabric, frame and fabric paints.

This weekend at Books n More - Glass painting ; 3-D Paper Sculpture and Active Math
The following workshops are lined up this weekend at Books n More :
1. Workshop : Paper Sculpture making- Learn to make a 3-D Paper sculpture of dog, giraffe, lion, tiger and monkey in this craft class with Mr VC Harish . It's a colourful card and paper construction exercise to make a creative animal sculpture.This workshop is for children in the age group of 5-16 years.

Brunch with Butterflies
30 children and a motley crew of teachers went on a field trip last Saturday!
We were off to Shameerpet to the forest area to study wetland ecology . We were greeted by the forest education officer who gave us an outline of what we'd be seeing there . Then we set out to see some butterflies on a small mound where a lot of flower bearing plants were being grown to attract butterflies. In that mini trek we spotted different types of butterflies-milkweed,brown ,skippers , nymphalids etc .
Anuradha aunty helped us track animals through their feet and droppings- there was a lot of excitement all around when the children spotted some civet dropping( anyone game for the world's most exotic and expensive coffee ?? ) - luckily , no coffee plants were in sight!
Among the flora- dry deciduous vegetation was seen with some mossy cover in the rainy season due to the proximity of water . We saw symbiotic plant relationship and animal-plant relationship in action.
We saw a colony of red ants and how they built their leafy nests using ant wax ! We saw centipedes , a few crustaceans ( due to the proximity of water , again) , herds of deer ( who were fed by the forest keepers due to lack of grass ) and many more smaller creatures

3.How things work : Brunch with Butterflies-A study of wetland ecology
We are taking children in the age group of 6 to 16 years on a field trip to the Shamirpet wetlands , in order to explore the flora , fauna and geographical features of wetlands . There will be a special session on the butterflies This half day trip will be coordinated by Ms Anuradha Vinod and the Wildlife Education and Extension wing of Forest Department of Andhra Pradesh.Prior registration mandatory. Registration closes on 20/2/2014.
Date and Time: 8 A.M to 12 NOON ON 22/2/2014
Fee : Rs 350 per person.(Including transport)
Children have to wear caps , sensible shoes and carry plenty of drinking water (and a snack).
4.Craft workshop : Make a popsicle stick house with Ms Anjali for children in the age group of 5-16 years . This building exercise will fuel creativity in children apart from teaching them some concepts of Construction and how buildings stand.This is a two session workshop.
Date and Time: 5 P.M to 6:30 P.M ON 22/2/2014 and 23/2/2014
Fee : Rs 300 per person.
