The following workshops are happening over the next two weeks at Books n More:

     1. Workshop - Make a cute Santa Claus in Christmas Craft time with Ms Rajashri for ages 4-10 years

• Date and Time : 20/12/2013 from 5-6:30 P.M

• Fee: Rs 150 ( All material inclusive)

    2. Workshop - "Junior Master Chef "- Chocolate Delights .Join Ms Anuradha Vinod in this fun filled workshop for ages 4-16 years to make "Kinderjoy", Chocolate Pudding, Triple Layer Chocolate Cake; Chocolate Golgappas and many more!

• Date and Time: 21/12/2013 from 5-6:30 P.M

• Fee- Rs 200 ( Inclusive of all materials ). Children to bring an apron( it's going to get messy !) and a tiffin box to take home goodies!

  3. Workshop : Theatre Workshop for ages 7-16 years with Ms Gurpreet Ghosh . Learn to overcome stage fear, improve your body language and diction and have lots of fun with theatre games in this two week winter theatre camp.Children will be staging a play on January 5'th .

• Date and Time: From 23/12/2013 to 5/1/2014 . All days except 25/12(Christmas) ; 29/12(Sunday);1/1(New Year ) and 4/1(Saturday ).Timing:10:30 A.M-12:30 P.M

4. Workshop : Smart Writing Workshop with Ms Sraboni Das , retired senior teacher from DPS (Delhi). Learn to unleash your imagination and express yourself creatively through stories , poems and essays .For Ages 9 -16 years .

• Date and Time : From 23/12/2013 to 28/12/2013(25/12/13 is a holiday for Christmas) .Timing- 5-6:30 P.M

• Fee : Rs 1000 per child ( Children to bring notebook and pen.Handouts will be provided.)

5.Workshop : Oil Pastel Painting with Ms Indra L for ages 9 to adult .

• Date and Time: 30/12/2013 to 4/1/2014 .(1/1/2014 witll be a holiday for New Year ).Time:5-6:30 P.M

• Fee: Rs 1000 per person(Participants to bring A3 Size Canvas and Oil Colours).

Kathak Classes and weekend activities at Books n More- Christmas Tree Ornament Making;Stories of Freedom Fighters.

1. Kathak classes are starting from 14/12/13 onwards at Books n More , Library and Activity
    Centre. The classes are conducted by Ms Archana Misra , a kathak exponent from Bengaluru.
    The weekend classes will be held on Saturdays from 11 A.M to 12 Noon and on Sundays from
    5 P.M To 6 P.M . The classes are open to children in the age group of 4-16 years .
    Fee :Rs 800 p.m

2. Christmas Tree Ornament Making workshop

Join Ms Ranjani Chandran in this workshop to make colourful wooden Christmas tree ornaments . This class is open to 5-16 year olds.Date and Time: 5 P.M on 13/12/2013.Fee :Rs 150 per child

3. "Stories of Freedom Fighters"

Join Ms Anuradha Vinod on a patriotic journey to learn about the brave freedom fighters of India. Children in the age group of 4-14 years will  learn about India's freedom struggle, sing patriotic songs,&make a "Tiranga" Sandwich.Children are required to come dressed in white.

This weekend at Books n More

The following three  workshops will be conducted this weekend( and Monday )at Books n More:

1. Terracotta Clay Painting- 6/12/2013 at 5 P.M

Learn to paint on smooth clay and make your own personalised money box in Craft Time with Ms Ranjani Chandran. All materials including the money boxes will be provided by us. This workshop is open to 5-16 year olds.

Fee : Rs 150 per child

2. Stories from Indian Mythology - Amar Chitra Katha Series - Session 5-7/12/13 AT 5 P.M

Hear stories from Indian Mythology and gems from classic Indian literature for children and then participate in an exciting treasure hunt that takes you through the stories that you have heard in class. This session is open to children in the age group of 4-9 years and is being conducted by Ms Anuradha Vinod.

Fee :Rs 150 per child

3. Make puppets using bags -9/7/2013 at 5 P.M

Colourful animals , monsters and princesses come to life in this exciting puppetry class with Ms Rajashri . For ages 5 years to adult.

Fee : Rs 200 per person.

Weekend at Books nMore

The following are the workshops planned for this weekend:

1. Gond Painting - Learn to make a handmade card with Gond Painting work on it . This is meant for 5-16 year olds . "Gond" is a tribal art form of Madhya Pradesh somewhat similar to the Maori style of painting. It makes use of contrasting "dots and dashes " pattern to lend colour and beauty to objects from nature. This is a part of our "Indian Art Series ". The workshop is being conducted by Ranjani Chandran

2. Amar Chitra Katha Series- Anuradha Vinod continues to educate and entertain our kids in this series , with " Stories of Shiva " for 4-10 year olds. This will be accompanied by a diorama making exercise where kids will be building a 3-D "MT KAILASH " and using stick puppet manipulatives( which they will be making in class ) to enact these stories .

Children are expected to bring an empty shoebox to build the diorama

Puppetry Workshop for November 18'th

A puppetry workshop will be held from November 18'th to December 9'th on 4 consecutive Mondays from 5-6:30 P.M with Ms Rajashri. The workshop will cover 4 different styles of puppet making  like finger puppets, sock puppets, stick puppets , cup puppets etc.The workshop is meant for children above age 6 and for adults also. The fee is Rs 600 per child or Rs 800 per adult.

This weekend the following programs are happening at Books n More:

1. Amar Chitra Katha series :
This six weekend series workshop is beginning on November 9'th and will finish on December 14'th . Every Saturday a session will be held on the stories from Amar Chitra Katha :
On Nov 9'th- Stories from the Panchatantra. This will be accompanies by a mask making activity and there will also be masked theatrical play for 5-14 year olds.

2. Madhubani Painting  -

This six weekend series workshop is beginning on November 9'th and will finish on December 14'th . Every Saturday a session will be held by Ranjani Chandran.The workshop is open to people in the age group of 7+ to adult. The participants will be creating a complete painting project on handmade paper.

3. 3-D Pop up Dinosaur Craft will be held on November 8'th at 5 P.M
The children will be building a colourful dinosaur out of card stock.

Dasara Camp at Books n More

Dasara Camp is starting from 7/10/2013 and going on till 19/10/2013 for 10 days. It is an art and craft camp being conducted by Ms Rajashri Ramesh and Ms Indra Linga.

The camp is open to children in the age group of 4-14 years.

The timings are from 10:30-1:00 P.M.

The children have to bring a snack to the camp.All art and craft materials will be provided.

The fee is Rs 1200 for 10 days or Rs 150 per day.

Advance registration is mandatory.

2. Theatrical Play and Dress up Storytime- Peter Pan story
Calling young pirates and fairies to dress up and come to this melee of song and dance , role play and story time with Gurpreet  Ghosh on the much loved children's classic "Peter Pan". This session is open to 4-9 year olds on 28/9/2013 between 5-6:30 P.M.

We are having two workshops this week at Books n More :

1. African Painting - This workshop will be held on 20'th September from 5-6:30 P.M by Ms Rajshri. Learn the Tribal style of painting colourful images from nature in this African Painting workshop. Use of geometric shapes and patterns enhances presentation in this painting style. This workshop is for ages 4-14 years .The fee is Rs 150 per child( all materials inclusive)

2. Mathemagic- Join Ramya Narayanan as she takes you out to the playground to play fun games to build your math skills. Pit heads to solve math riddles and participate in a fun filled outdoor story session on fractions and more! This workshop is open for ages 5-10 years on 21/9/2013 from 5-6:30 P.M .The fee is Rs 150 per child( all materials inclusive)

2.Around the Country in 25 stories - Bihar State is in focus this week. Learn the Chhau Dance , tie Gamchas around your head and dance to folk beats . Hear Folktales from Bihar from Gurpreet Ghosh and participate in an immersive "Madhubani Art Camp" with Ranjini Chandran.

Academic Sessions:

1. Reading Program/English Enrichment  -
   Customized one on one goal oriented program
   with a maximum child teacher ratio of 3:1.
   Level 1- Phonetics (Beginners-3-5 years)

1. Introduction to 42 phonemes (letter sounds of the alphabet)
2. Blending letter sounds to read single syllable words.
3. Verbal self expression in good English.
4. Picture based composition

         Level 2- Advanced Phonetics and Vocabulary ( Intermediate 6-9 years)

1. Phonetics - short and long vowel sounds, digraphs, diphthongs, blends to facilitate reading compound words and difficult words comfortably.
2. Spelling rules using phonetics for a good foundation in spelling
3. Vocabulary development and reading comprehension.
4. Introduction to grammar.

         Level 3 -English  Enrichment( Advanced 10-16 years)

1. Advanced and intensive courses in grammar.
2. Vocabulary enhancement, mind mapping, composition exercises to facilitate self expression in good English.
3. Creative Writing.
4. Advanced reading comprehension to sharpen the child's thinking skills, to draw second order conclusions and develop reasoning ability.
5. Corrective reading techniques if required.
