The following activities / workshops are starting this week :

1.Independence day Special- Story Craft session 

Join us for a fun filled patriotic story session with Ms Gurpreet Ghosh for 4-10 year olds. Hear stories of India's freedom struggle, make a tricolour wristband and a flag to take home for independence day 

Date and Time: Thursday,14'th August . From 5-6:30 P.M

Fee : Rs 150 per child(all materials inclusive)

2.Memory and Concentration Building Workshop 

Join Ms Shakeela Gyanamoorthy , a yoga exponent , who will take your child through breathing techniques , memory enhancement and concentration building exercises and kriyas. This four weekend program is useful to help the child retain knowledge , beat exam stress and tension and concentrate better during and before the exam. 

Date and Time: From 16'th August 2014 to 6'th September 2014 . 5-7 P.M .For 4 Saturdays .

Fee : Rs 800 for the whole workshop (inclusive of all materials )

3.Scrabble classes for juniors (4-9 year olds ) is presently being held on Sundays from 10:30-11:30 A.M by Ms Bhavana Jain .It will now start including vocabulary games like anagrams , word building, word search etc for building vocabulary .Fee Rs 500 p.m

Kandinsky cityscape Art class and Around the Country in 25 stories- Manipur state this weekend at Books n More

The following activities are happening at Books n More this weekend:

Workshop :Kandinsky Cityscape Art class with Ms Mandakini Rao for 5-14 year olds. Learn all about Kandinsky's style and make a cityscape in his signature style .Teaches proportion , composition of a picture and effective use of geometry .

Workshop : Around the Country in 25 stories- Stories and folktales from Manipur with Ms Gurpreet Ghosh and Manipuri dance session with Ms Archana Misra

Hear stories from Manipur and build knowledge about the north east state .Learn a few steps of Manipuri , speak a few words in the language and watch a small presentation about the state . For 4-14 year olds

This weekend at Books n More

The following events are happening at Books n More:

1. Make an Airplane Piggy Bank in Craft Time:

Learn to make a unique and colourful piggy bank out of a plastic bottle. Learn this eco friendly recycling craft from Ms Kirthika and Ms Sunanda. This is meant for 4-14 year olds. Children are requested to bring a 1 ltr used plastic water bottle.(like a Bisleri or a Kinley Bottle)

Date and Time:  25'th July . From 5-6:30 P.M

Kahaani Suno- Raja Rani ki Kahaaniyan

Hear fun filled stories from Indian Mythology on Kings and Queens from Ms Bhavana Jain . For 3-8 year olds. Children to come dressed as kings and queens in the spirit of the storytime activity

2. BENTO BOX - A colourful and healthy tiffin cooking session for you!

This cooking workshop with Ms Anuradha Vinod meant for parents (both moms and dads welcome) is to teach you how to make a colourful and a healthy tiffin for your child . You will learn recipes for all the food groups plus attractive food presentation techniques

3.Speak Up!- English Classes with Ms Bhavna Jain for verbal self expression and basic conversational skills for young children under 8 years.With fun activities , games and exercises to boost self expression

4. Western Dance classes(for 6-16 year olds) will now be held on Mondays from 6-7 P.M and Wednesdays from 5-6 P.M starting from July 21'st 2014 onwards.Parents please note.Fee- Rs 800 p.m

1.Bee Wise Optimise:

Can we learn efficient design from bees and other friends in nature? This and other questions discussed through a blend of concepts in science and management, tailor-made for the curious 10-15 year old. Participants will work in teams to solve real-life problems in four sessions on principles of design, problem solving, decision making, and carbon footprint.

2.OP ART  WORKSHOP:

​

Op Art is a math-themed form of abstract art, which uses repetition of simple forms and colors to create optical effects. In this workshop participants will learn to draw using' 3- D effect to create optical illusion. This is a way to learn to use "Perspective " in Drawing.

3.Storytime with Ms Gurpreet Ghosh - Frozen story with theatrical enactment

Join Ms Gurpreet Ghosh for a fun filled activity class with storytime from the Disney movie "Frozen" , make stick puppets of the characters and enact them as you hear the story!
